Let it shine bracelet by Ellad

One of the Ella d bracelets. I would like to change the white beads next time around. It was a bit difficult to make but second time should be a breeze.

thin tila bead bracelet

This is a Tila bead thin bracelet that I couldn't find any instructions for. Batya, a local instructor, showed me how to make it and said one of her students had learned it in a class or store locally. It turns out to be very quick a nd fun to make. I used 25 tila beads for the base. To begin take a seed bead size 11 and then one Tila bead and repeat until you have the right length minus the clasp. then you return to the other hole on the Tila bead and go back working the same size 11 beads in between the Tila beads. That is the bottom of the bracelet. the second or top layer consists of 4 size 15 beads and one crystal size 4. You begin by taking one size 15 and going into one of the 11 beads on the bottom. then pick up another size 15 bead and into the crystal. Pick up another size 15 and  Go into the bottom 11 bead and repeat all the length on the same side of the bracelet. At the end, return on the other side, now just going into an 11 bead and a crystal but adding a 15 before and after so you will end up with 4 size 15 beads between each crystal. The crystal is only added on the first pass of the top layer. On the return you go into the existing crystal just adding your size 15 beads before and after going into the size 11 from the base. You don't go into the Tila on the top layer at all. Make sure to keep to the same side when you add the size 15s.

Alexandra set from Roberti

This is a pretty set, but it took me over 3 days for the bracelet and a few hours more on the earrings. I might do the earrings again.

magnetic clasp

Hong Kong beadstore

After many trips to Kowlooon to the MTR stop at Cham Shi Po (exit A), I finally got to this bead store which stocks Miyuki and Matsuno beads. They only take cash as do the other stores there. They sell in ounces instead of grams and the prices are t he HK dollar which is about 8 to one US dollar. I felt prices were very good. I found Tila beads that were on the latest catalog list and was told they are the only store plus the main store in Taiwan to get them. But mainly I wanted gold beads and did get them. They speak good English and also stock needles, threads, some English books, etc.

Earring present

These earrings are for a dear email friend who couldn't find the earrings in red that she wanted so hope she likes these.

Maroon bracelet Ella Des

This is called the Maroon bracelet and is a  pattern available on line from Ella Des. I have also seen a bracelet very similar on a French site with the same name. I really enjoyed making this one and plan on doing it again. Ella des is very talented.

Cha cha bangle

The photo has two bangles with the same beads. The smaller one on the left took several hours to make a nd the larger one over a week. That one was a pattern on Etsy from Debbie von Tronder and the small one was figured out by an Israeli beader called Danni. The stitch is a type of RAW using the new Twin beads.

cube earrings from Jensen pattern

I have the new Virginia Jensen book on cubes so made this simple pair of earrings which took a longer time than I had planned. It's basically brick stitch but she never mentions that word anywhere in the book or in the pattern. I probably will make more because I want to also use drops but couldn't f ind mine.
